Visit the official website https://ssc.gov.in Candidates should carefully read the detailed instructions provided in the notice and complete the process before the deadline, which is 15 May 2026 (11:00 PM). candidates must complete a new One-Time Registration (OTR) on the updated SSC website, since the old registration will not work anymore. Once created, this OTR will remain valid for all future SSC exams.

Selection Procedure
The selection process of SSC Stenographer conducted by the Staff Selection Commission consists of three main stages. First, there is a Computer Based Test (CBT), which is an online exam including questions from Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language, carrying a total of 200 marks with negative marking for wrong answers.
Candidates who qualify this exam are called for the Skill Test, where they are given a dictation and are required to write it in shorthand and then type it on a computer; this test is only qualifying in nature and its marks are not added to the final merit.
The last stage is Document Verification, where all required documents of the candidate are checked. The final selection is based only on the marks obtained in the CBT.
